One of the very first ingredients listed in both our Vitamin C Serum and our Hyaluronic Acid Serum is  organic Aloe Barbadensis, commonly called “Aloe Vera”, or simply “Aloe”.  It has been deemed the “wonder plant” and is a succulent within the Lily family whose extracts are widely used for its excellent soothing and healing properties which is exactly why we have included it in our serums.

Aloe Vera has been used for medicinal purposes for thousands of years. Over 6000 years ago, Ancient Egyptians carved pictures of the plant in stones.  They called Aloe the “plant of immortality” and endearingly presented it as a burial gift to deceased pharaohs.  Written records referring to the plant date back to the 16th century b.c.  The Aloe plant is mentioned in the Bible seventeen times.

There are 75 active constituents in the Aloe Vera plant.  Vitamins, minerals, amino acids, salicylic acids, saponins, lignin, sugars and enzymes are all found in Aloe and work together to make it the miracle marvel that it is.

Aloe is an anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, cleanser, antiseptic, collagen booster, natural sunscreen and moisturizer.  It is very effective in combating aging skin.  One reason is because it contains mucopolysaccharides which aid in the binding of moisture into the skin.  Another reason is that it encourages the production of collagen which makes the skin more elastic-like thus less wrinkled and saggy.  The zinc within the Aloe acts as an astringent to tighten up the pores.  In addition, the Vitamins A,C and E within it are rich in anti-oxidants, meaning it will fight the damaging effects of free radicals as well as help to repair the damage already done by them.

The part of the Aloe used in our products is the leaf which is the most potent part of the leaf.  It would be useless to add Aloe to our product if it contained poison so we have made sure our Aloe Vera is organic.  It is never sprayed with chemicals and does not contain GMOs.

It’s easy to see why Aloe Vera is such a wonderful ingredient to add to our Serums and it is only one of the many beneficial ones that we add in.  We never, ever add anything just as a filler.  Each and every ingredient we put in our Serums is an extra added bonus that brings something to the table to help in the anti-aging process.
