DIY Anti-Oxidant Serum Lovely Lavender Bath Soak: When Life Gets Hectic, Soak it Off

lavender

Fall is a hectic time of year.  We’ve all gotten a bit spoiled lazing by the pool all summer and now it’s time to get the kids back in school, put the garden to rest and…how many shopping days til Christmas?

Although autumn is one of my favorite times of year, it is a busy time for me and I hear others talking about it as well.  Stress will age you quicker than anything so be sure to take some time out to unwind and pamper yourself during this hectic season.

There’s nothing more relaxing that a good, long soak in the tub.  Do it right with this DIY organic Lovely Lavender Bath Salt that is a rich anti-oxidant serum remedy, good for your fried nerves and your skin as well.

Lavender buds have a heavenly fragrance and are medicinal as well. Lavender is a soothing herb and is a remedy for indigestion, insomnia, headaches and cures skin problems like acne, burns, dry skin, eczema, itchy skin, sunburn, seborrhea, and skin inflammation.  It is one of the few essential oils that can safely be directly applied to the skin so we added some essential oil to the mix too.  You just can’t get enough lavender, especially this time of year.Epsom salts are excellent for relaxing tired muscles and tired skin as well.  It is a natural remedy for blackheads and clogged pores and leaves the skin soft and silky.

To make Lovely Lavender Bath Salts, you will need:

1 cup Epsom salt

3 Tablespoons dried lavender buds (organic)

15 drops of lavender essential oil (organic)

Simply mix the ingredients in a medium sized bowl.  Take out several scoops to use and store the remainder in an airtight glass jar.  The mixture will become even stronger as it sits.  It will last for a good length of time but you can also store it in the refrigerator for months if you prefer.

To use Lovely Lavender Bath Salts, just dissolve several scoops under warm running water.  Let them disburse in the tub and step in.  This is a great time to read a good book or meditate.  It’s best to stay in the tub for at least 15 minutes but you will most likely stay a lot longer than that.  The Lovely Lavender soak is so relaxing and refreshing, you may never want to return to the real world.  This anti-oxidant serum solution is great for your face and for your entire body, inside and out.  Enjoy!
